A vs Super A

What are the biggest differences between the Farmall A and the Farmall Super A ?
And what is the same between the these 2 tractors?

Thanks, dave

Super A has Hydraulic Touch Control and heavy duty fenders to support the rear rockshaft. I believe the later Super As had the C123 engine. Cosmetically, the Super A has a square instrument panel instead of the common oval box. Otherwise, in general, the same tractor.

Supers were made later/after the regular in 47-54. If you were asking to see if your was a super or not, its not being a 40(based on your earlier post). Or do you have one in mind for parts. In which case most of the parts should work between them.

I think that I read somewhere that only the last 500 or SA's had the 123 engines. The serial #'s had something that indicated it had the 123 engine. (SAA-1 ?) I was at a local sale here a few years ago that had one on it. The guy is a Farmall collector and had a lot of tractors and the sale was well advertised. I was surprised that it didn't go for a lot more than it sold for, as the ones with 123 engines were fairly rare. If I remember right, it went for only about two grand. I had bought a B earlier for about the same money. He also had an M-1 Grand made by IH in an original shipping box that went for more money. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

We had a 1954 super A that had the square dash just like this. We bought it from the original owner when it was 10 yrs old and just like new. Nice little tractor.
