Blocking clutch petal down will that weaken pressure plate? Whats best way to free up, have all kinds of time. Thanks Doug

Take the inspection plate off the lower part of bell housing and squirt some wd 40 on the shaft splines. It helped mine. How often do you use the tractor?

If you have all kinds of time , just take it apart , clean it up and put it back together , replace anything that is not reuseable and you are done . They are a simple design easy to service , not like you have to split tractor to access . A clutch that won't release properly or sticks at times is an accident waiting to happen . Not trying to be the safety Nazi but as simple as an F-series clutch is to work on there is just no excuse to take a chance.

Just bought and is setting in a foot of snow and won't be picking up for a month or so. Thought I could block clutch peddle down and spray clutch with penetrating oil while setting. Thanks for any help.

worth a shot I guess . There is an inspection cover you could take off and at least get some idea of the conditions in there , depending on how long its been setting out , climate and rodent activity it could be anything from lightly stuck to catastrophic . I have dealt with both and the latter is no fun . Good luck on your project .

Don't the clutch plate stick to flywheel and pressure plate? Not the trans spline, all clutch plates I have seen fit pretty loose on the spline plus wouldn't move much when clutch was released. Thanks Doug

The shaft can rust to the clutch disc too. Unless the access holes to the clutch are sealed up, mice are very prone to getting in there and building a nest in the clutch housing which can totally ruin an entire clutch. Mouse pee is very corrosive
