Super a touch control help

I am trying to learn how the hydraulics work on the tractor. I have a single cylinder for my snow plow that I want to hook in

This is what I have now.

Do I have to take off that hose and use those ports? I have tried to read as much as I can about the system. Right now the arms on the tractor move with the levers. I don't need to use the arms as far as I know right now. Is there a better way to do this?

The pictures are unclear, but it appears that you have the bypass block already.

First rule of hydraulics is the path must always be complete. That is what that braided line is for. If you removed it and capped off those ports, your hydraulics would be deadheaded (blocked off), and something would likely blow from the pressure.

However, that braided hose appears to be a TOILET SUPPLY LINE!!! Don't use the hydraulics until you can replace that line with a real hydraulic line. That stuff is only rated for about 120PSI, and your hydraulics can develop 1200PSI. Hydraulic lines are rated for 2500PSI and up.

You need an OPEN CENTER hydraulic spool valve to control the cylinder. If you want to control multiple functions buy a valve with the number of spools you need. 1 spool, 2 spools, 3 spools, etc.

IIRC, the port on the left (uppper if looking at the tractor) in your picture is pressure, and would connect to the IN on the new valve. The OUT from your new valve would connect to the port on the right (lower if looking at the tractor) in your picture. The work ports would connect to your cylinder.

It's been a while since I've done one of these so I may have the IN and OUT ports backwards.

Something like this might work, a fasthitch valve off a Super C if you could find one.

I'm not sure exactly where you are trying to end up here. If I am recalling everything correctly, last summer you had an A-60 blade on the back of your trailer. Use it and you don't need to mess with the hydraulics. More recently you had another blade that appears to use a one-way cylinder but I didn't see a valve in the picture. Do you already have a valve? If so, what is it?

There are several ways you can tap into the hydraulics on the Super A and you are likely to get several suggestions that will differ from each other. If you do, PICK ONE, do NOT try to mix and match what several people tell you. The proper way to connect this:

Use a power beyond valve that has a built-in pressure relief. It should to be a one-way valve or convertible to one-way. Connect one hose from the place the upper end of the toilet hose is connected to the IN of your remote valve. Connect the power beyond port of your remote valve where the lower end of the toilet hose is connected. Connect the return port of the remote valve to the filler opening on the Touch-Control block. If it is a one-way valve, you have one port left to go to the cylinder. I won't complicate this any more by explaining what to do if it isn't a one-way valve, but there are get-arounds.

I don't know for a fact that you have a toilet hose, but calling it that makes the explanation more clear than trying to call it something else.

Thank you for the replies. And Good memory! I do have another blade but I do believe im missing parts from the frame of it and there is no lift handle.

As far as the toilet line, its possible thats what it is, but I assure you i did not put it there haha. I don't think it is though because i took it off and its pretty heavy duty.

Anyways, I do not have a valve. I was looking to see what valve i'd need. So do i need something like this?

I'm sorry for the stupid questions, I am not fully understanding how this all works as it looks like they all have handles on them? I thought I would be able to use the touch control levers. If not thats fine.

Would it be easier to get a new dual cylinder or does that not really matter? Thanks again for all the help

Those are 2-way valves and do not appear to be power beyond (some can be converted with additional parts, but no evidence of such with these). One of these valves could be plumbed to work but possibly with some odd side effects. Any added valve connected where your looped hose (toilet hose) is will have its own lever and that lever will be the operating control for any attached cylinder.

To use the Touch-Control levers, you must connect whatever implement to the Touch-Control rockshaft. That is the way your A-60 blade is intended to work. What is missing from your A-60 blade? If you can provide pictures of all the pieces you have, we may be able to determine exactly what is missing. That may be the simplest and least expensive way for you to push snow.

Thank you for the response. Is it possible for you to find the valve that I'd need.

The a-60 blade is buried under about 3-4 feet of snow right now. I think it's missing pieces because the lady I bought it from said she thought it was. I honestly didn't even look at it. I have a couple pictures of it and my rockshaft arms do work

I'm not going to put a bunch of time into finding the right valve for you, don't have the time. This one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Prince-Hydr...pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2588d8e830
is about right, except it is 2-way. Maybe the same seller has a 1-way. If you can't get any closer, this could be used by T-ing the second cylinder port into the Touch-Control filler.

Looking at your A-60 picture, it looks like you are missing a few key lift parts (unless some are still on the tractor). I think all your missing parts are on one page in the parts book. Go to http://partstore.caseih.com and search by model. Select model 60 then select G-4.

Thank you Jim. I have sent the seller an email asking for that valve single spool 1 way with power beyond.

I will have to look more at the a-60. It was in rough shape I know the cutting edge was only barely there. There are some parts on the tractor I'll have to get pictures of them tomorrow maybe I can get that to work too

Sony, here's a picture of the assembled plow unit on my SA.

You seem to be missing most of the lift mechanism. There is a long 3/4" bolt with square washers and a spacer tube that goes through the square tube of the front bolster (nut visible just behind the front axle) that holds the '3 legged bracket' in your picture; a plate that bolts to the bell housing, and the tubular rod that connects from the plate that pins to the rockshaft (needs 2 pins).

Hope that helps.

BTW, the ~240# of weights on the blade frame don't really belong there, nor can I say what they are counter balancing, lest I be turned in to the SPCT.

Interesting! thank you for the picture. Funny because i took the tube out of the axle to put my other plow frame on. I hope that seller on ebay does answer me soon

I found this one http://www.surpluscenter.com/Hydrau...-VALVE-OPEN-CENTER-W-POWER-BEYOND-9SV-1-Y.axd

1 SPOOL SV VALVE OPEN CENTER W/POWER BEYOND

SELECT THE TYPE OF SPOOL REQUIRED:

and for the type of spool required is it the first option-SVW1AA1 SA CYL SPOOL SPRING CENTERED. it's about $190. Or I could get the one on ebay and tee it for cheaper?

Ended up sending an email to the place for the valve above and they said that's what I'm looking for. So I ordered it. Hopefully it's right
