White smoke from 49 M?

My 49 M mostly sat for the last 3 years with no use. It had a
hole in the radiator so I fixed that. I remember three years ago
when I used it that it got hot from low coolant. I used it today
and when it's at full throttle it runs good no white smoke. But,
at idle to about half throttle it smokes white and sometimes
quite a it. I'm thinking either a bad head gasket or cracked
block/head.

Anyway to tell?

Since it was ran low on coolant and got hot, you very likely cracked the head. The head cracking when hot is more likely than a bad gasket or cracked block. Take the head off and have it magnafluxed to find the crack/s.

Check the oil to see if it is milky colored or gray. Also check your coolant level to see if it is going down. Additionally check your spark plugs. I am thinking that you probably checked the fuel. Ethanol can cause issues too. An M engine will take an awful lot of abuse, so it would have to have gotten super hot to warp the head or crack a block.

The last time I ran it it had a hole in the radiator and was right
up at the H, so I quit using and last fall moved back out to our
small farm. Fixed the radiator and ran it a little noticed that it
was smoking white. Thought it was just from setting for three
years.

I pulled the plugs tonight and coolant came out of the #3
cylinder. Drained the oil and got grey looking oil and antifreeze
out. The radiator was low last night when I checked it, thought
i just hadn't gotten it full when I fixed the radiator. I'm going to
get the loader pulled off and backed into the barn to fix it. I'm
letting the oil drain overnight and will fill with new in order to
put it in the barn.

Probably a head gasket. Hopefully the head and block are okay.
Generally when they get really hot the head will warp. When you lift the head, do it carefully so that you can see where the problem is. If you see that it is a bad head gasket, I would still have the head checked out for warping. Good Luck.
