farmall 200 rod bearings?

i have a farmall 200 with a gas C-135 and it needs new rod bearings(low oil pressure). will bearings from a 340 330 or 404 work? thanks

You need to measure your crankshaft for wear. If the rod journals are worn, your mains probably are worn. To do the job right you should pull the engine and remove the crankshaft. Take it to
an auto machine shop. They will measure it and supply the correct bearings even if it is worn undersize. Hal

i swear everytime anybody on here asks about a simple repair like rod bearings, we always have to pull the motor and spend a ton of money on it. you didn't even answer my question.

most likely not as different engines. have you checked your oil pressure with a master gauge?, first priority. low oil pressure can be from all worn engine brgs. cams brgs, rod brgs, mains. you need to plastiguage the rods and mains. if you are getting readings over up in the .004-.006 and up you definitely have wear issues. even the oil pump can be worn. crank needs to be checked for out of roundness too. also rods checked for the same, may need resizing. all depends what you are doing with the tractor as they will run forever also even if the oil pressure is not top notch. but have to know what psi you have in the engine. just throwing rod brgs at it wont make much difference.

well what did you expect? advise costs money. you didn't give any details about the tractor.
is engine apart? or still running? a person has to do a lot of presuming from vauge questions.
don't want to pull the engine and spend money then throw some 40 weight oil in it and keep using it. El Toro gave you good advise.

Hi, see CaseIH parts at:

Many choices for C-135. Do you know the history
of this engine? Are they standard rod bearings
or have they been replaced before? Also as
mentioned by someone else check oil pump for
wear.

You do need to pull the crank and have it ground because new bearings wont fix it if the crank needs to be ground and then replaced with new over sized bearings. They will grind the crank round again thus making the crank journals under original size thus new bearings will be thicker to replace what has been ground off the crank. You can install standard new bearings without grinding crank but they wont last and you will be just like you are now. Have you miked the old bearings as that will tell you how bad thry are worn. Sometimes you can get new bearings that are 2 thous over.

I am a cheap skate. I would start with the oil pump. Remove the bottom cover of the pump. The gears will have worn grooves into the cover. This increases the clearances and reduces your oil pressure. Put sandpaper on a smooth level surface and set the plate or the sandpaper. Lightly push down on the plate and rotate it in both circular and linear motions until it is smooth. Re-install the plate on the pump. As long as the pump is moving enough oil to the moving engine parts, you should be ok. If pressure improves, you should be good until you have the time to rebuild the engine.

I concur. The oil pump has historically been an issue. Flat sanding it is easy. Clearance is very small.0005 to .001" (gaskets are the adjustment they are way thin. Jim.

I thought you asked this before and someone gave you the part number information of what to look for. Maybe I am wrong on that, but I cannot tell you if those bearings will work or not.

I just looked and without getting too involved in different serial numbers the bearings are not the same part number although all model tractors show C-135 engine.

Are you sure you have a C-135 in your Farmall 200 as they came with a 123 engine like the Super C. I didn't think a C-135 would interchange easily in a tractor built with a 123 but I'm not a puller guy who knows about that stuff, Hal.

To answer the original question I need to know which
c135 you have, but a simple no money fix to get
though the winter is valvoline SAE 60 racing oil can
be purchased at your local parts house , if that
ain't cheap enough put a bull plug in the gauge hole
and don't worry about it as it may fix itself.

C135 as used in 330 340 404 2404 and others used 2 different rod bearings. Sealed Power #CB556P for 1.809 shaft or CB533P for 2.059 shaft.
C113 and C123 used a different bearing than either of the above.

You need to have the crankshaft rod journals measured for wear. Then buy your set of 4 rod bearings from the auto machine shop. This is so you have the correct clearance on your rod bearings. This shouldn't break the bank. Hal
