I have a F-20 that doesnt like to fire on number 2 and 3 -- the spark is very week on them and hot on 1 and 4 -- changed wires around and no difference -do you fellas think it is the cap like I do?

very well could be. You do know that the brushes are spring loaded? That would be something to check. I don't think new caps are available.

I have another mag that i could bolt on but is a different kind and only two bolts line up plus the timing lever doesnt hook up -- might be worth a try

It's probably the spring loaded carbon brushes inside the mag cap as mentioned above.

If it is an F4 mag. Fordson House has caps for them.

make sure you have them in the right order - clockwise as viewed from the driver's seat. In CCW order, #1 and #4 w will fire at the correct time and the engine will run.
