sad and lonely....

I was driving down a country gravel road heading to a job last week and spotted this sorry looking F30 sitting near the road... RIP

A ghost from the past. Maybe even from the dust bowl era. That's how those photos struck me. A person's mind can really start flashing seeing those photos, making you wonder about it's past life.

Best regards

somebody will want it....
Was at the auction with a couple of tractors just like that...maybe even worse.
One JD, a GP I think, I actually considered bidding and using as a lawn ornament. looked cool.
LOL, got an education pretty quick. It bought $1000

That could be a very nice tractor once fixed up.
Would be nice to see if the owner wants to sell it.
Looks like its been there for years.

Something like that can be real satisfying to put in the shop and spend a few years putting back together. Always makes for good conversation if you take pictures along the way. I have a Loboy I brought back from the grave. It wasn't that bad but it did have a tree fall on it. I will never get my money back in cash, just satisfaction.

Looks like it is right where it belongs! Makes better scenery and conversation than anything else.

The guys that I know that restore these old tractor are not in it for the money but for the love of it and the chalenge of bringing it back to life. .

Me too, I have taken some sorry looking examples and fixed them up and gotten them running. I enjoy the challenge, heck, fixing them up is half the fun! Then I take them to various local shows and put them to work. 8)

Part or restore, it is worth an effort. If I were closer, I would consider offering scrap price for it. Parts for these are close to being on the endangered species list..........

We have something like that. Its been moved 4-5 times since it was driven home about 50 + years ago with a bad governor. To bad it was not parked in a building then. I guess it was pretty well worn out and was not much of a tractor when it was running. My Dad bought this tractor used for around $300.00 in about 1940 and made payments on it for a few years. Sometimes the repairs & fuel was more than the payments.

It must of paid off because in 1951 they accumilated enough money to buy a new WD Allis with money in hand.

parked at the edge of the field when it quit running, i bet the large tree was the only tree there at the time

(quoted from post at 14:28:56 05/15/14) Better snatch it up Kirk......

I did try, I was able to locate the owner and ask if he wanted to sell it. The answer was "no, it was my Dad's tractor"

Such a typical response from so many people. It's sad, but I guess they would rather have their memories and a rotting hulk than some $$ in their pocket. I frequent a website called "Cars in Barns" and there are lots of similar stories about cars and how people would rather let them rot. :(
