My 2 point hitch works ok lifting and lowering. The problem is it drifts down over time.I replaced the hoses some years back and one had a in line valve(check valve ?) attached to it I got them switched and it drifted very fast. I swapped them and it held tell now. My question is this valve bad. What type of valve is this and can I replace it?

Someone else can answer your question. But most of the older tractors, IH and JD, likely the rest of them, drop slowly when they are not running. That is not a problem unless the tractor is running. Out of habit I lower the 3 point when I shut it off anyway. I see no need to have weight hanging in the air if it is not needed. An exception is if it won't start and you need to tow it. This is only my opinion.

If the hoses are hooked correctly, the hitch will raise when you move lever forward on a 450. Opposite of a 4 or 560. And that hitch should hold up indefinitely. Most likely the check valve block and it should be easy to repair with a new o-ring. Could be the cyl also and that is easy to test. Just take the hose off that is not holding hitch up and if any oil leaks out it is cyl leaking. Also, if hoses are hooked correctly, that hose would be the one not going into the check valve block.
