Super M Brake Disc Clearance

Today I have been setting up to resurface the faces of the
brake parts to give them a fresh new surface. Does anyone
want to venture on a guess as to how much clearance would
be "about right" between the parts with the brakes released?
I'll try to send a couple pictures to give you an idea what I am
doing and the straight edge is shown on the one picture as to
where I mean.... Thanks for your feed back

On a SM or larger IH with that style of IH disk brake I recommend .040 to .060" clearance That Range allows free retract when released, and good geometry for applying force through the linkage that turns the plates. Jim
