I am restoring a 1952 Cub and it has a carb. no. 51234R93. I went on to Yesterday's Tractors and it don't show that number. I called the CNH dealer and they wanted #120.00 for a kit. Any ideas where I can find a kit for that carb at a reasonable price.

I noticed your part number was missing a digit. It should be: 251234R93

That's just a standard IH Cub carburetor. The number after the R is the revision. What's before the R is most important.

This site lists THREE separate kits that will work. They list 251234R94, but that's okay. They will fit your Cub carb.

Be careful though. The Tisco kit like you get at Tractor Supply (and possibly on this site) includes the WRONG needle valve and seat. It is too long.

Got carb.kit once from NAPA for a NAA Ford. Everything ok but for the throttle shaft. It would rev to high-no gov.action. Put in old shaft -everything is fine.

I got a carb kit on the way now for my cub I got off eBay from markscarbs for a standard IH carb. 20 dollars for basic rebuild. Free shipping.should have it in by Saturday. I'll let ya know how it does.

You did not say what is wrong with your carb. Usually a good cleaning and new gasket will take care of the usual problems associated with sitting up and not running. The idle jet is the main area that gets damaged when disassembly is done. Remove the screws and just pull the two sections straight apart, no twisting or angle movement. Jet is replacable, last one I bouht was about $20 including shipping.
