Farmall Super A

There are two petcocks on the right hand side of the oil pan. If oil runs out the bottom but not the top, it is at the correct level. When oil runs out the top, it is over full.

If the petcocks are missing, then someone replaced the oil pan with one from a later model such as a 140. The only way to check oil level then is to drain the oil, measure how much there is, and pour it back in.

There should be a small pipe plug on the left-hand side of the transmission, behind the left side brake rod. Fill it until oil starts to come out that hole. It doesn't take a whole lot, about 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 quarts to fill it.

BTW, "Right Hand" and "Left Hand" sides are determined by right and left of the operator, while sitting in the seat.

Others did not say, but the final drive oil is separate from the transmission. To check the final drives, remove the plugs under the tractor left and right sides between front drawbar attachment bolts. A 1/2 inch drive socket driver fits the plugs. Oil level should be up to bottom of hole when full.

on these old guys, often water gets into the tranny. before you add or check; with machine sitting on a level, loosen the drain plug and let some of the fluid ooze out. it may be water and it may be goop. let all of the water and goop out, close the plug and then check and fill if needed
