trying to rebuild govener..axle pin is stuck up in gov. shaft is pushed in with spring......any tips on how to get out.....thanks....also wanted to say thanks to all who helped with pto...finally got a straight one...had to build a press out of scrap......thanks again to all,,,,, and gene bender you are a national treasure,,,thanks again......dewy

I hope someone can help. I have the same problem and I also need a thrust bearing. anyone have a aftermarket # for that bearing thats less than $ 50.

you can ask for a EW 1/2 as thats what it was when i worked at a place where we used them.

I assume it is stuck due to assorted crud, rust etc. I would probably stand it on end and soak it with a good penetrating oil, solvent or whatever seems best by appearance. If it sticks out, I'd try turning it with vise grips (trying not to mar it badly. If it doesn't stick out (likely or you wouldn't be asking), I would try tapping it lightly with a hammer and punch. Go easy with the tapping, the idea is to jar it loose, not drive it in deeper. If all else fails, you may have to drill it out and get another axle pin.
