Cub manifold and pipe

I am doing some work on a 53 cub. I blasted and powder coated the manifold. And replaced the pipe with a piece of schedual 40 stainless steel. That I polished myself. I am pleased with the results. Opinions?

Wow.

Is that a standard size pipe like "black iron" or "galvanized" plumbing pipe with NPT threads? Or was machining involved?

Looks nice. I hope you used some "never seize" on that threaded joint. I wanted to change mine years ago, but was afraid I would break the manifold. Mine is a 1948.

Looks really good. I read the Correct Police post below, and after seeing yours, I think I agree, a few of a person's innovative, contrasting, change-ideas are great and should be encouraged. I understand the IH accountants in 1950 wanted painting simplified down to all red, doesn't mean there isn't a more attractive way. I have my fan shroud, my exhaust manifold, a few other items aluminum-colored, my carb and starter body black, the connector tube between carb and governor aluminum, and a few others. have a small chromed rear view mirror. Looks much beter.

That's odd. I've put a SS nipple between the manifold and muffler on my SC. If anything I have more problems with the nipple coming loose in the manifold than it binding up.

I used to hate it when I had to replace the muffler. The carbon steel rusted into the manifold and muffler. When I upgraded the carbon steel nipple to SS all problems were solved.

Threaded SS pipe is a bugger to keep tight, it expands more than black iron. The expansion/contraction loosens it up.
