hydrolic fluid

Have owned my h for a while but haven't had to add hydrolic fluid. I have some implements with empty cylinders so I'll have to add some I know. Given the fact its also transmission fluid would case IH hy-tran be what I need to use?

That's why its called HY(hydraulic)-Tran(Transmission). The new CIH blend should be compatible or the same as original. That's what is used in the machines here (or "universal" blend from farm supply store), no problems

Cheapest thing you can buy is SAE 30 engine oil. It works as good as Hytran and probably leaks less. You might want to use non detergent because of the potential foaming by detergent, although I have had no problems. Use Hytran if you are going to share the implements with someone else.

No need to use Hytran in the transmission on an H. It works much better with the heavy gear lube that's originally recommended.

When you said hydraulic fluid I was thinking of the lift all. If you included the transmission, that takes 80W90, 90 wt, 85/140, etc. Don't use Hytran or the 30 wt I mentioned for the lift all.
