If I remember there was a picture of that M on here a few years ago. But thats all I know about it.

Bill, Guys, Definitely an Aftermarket Conversion for a particular purpose! A company in Lubbock, Tx. did similar conversions on small 35 hp Fords & IHs for Sprayers and cutting tassels off corn, had a Sycle (ms) mower attachment for cutting rogue heads in Seed Milo fields it is very unique, Not factory at all, there are pics of a JD A with a ultra high Aftermarket conversion on it, this M will fall into that sort of category! It is cool, would be a head turner at any Show! If you can Gather it up!

John, is this what you are talking about? They were called "Hi-Trac". They used just about any utility sized tractors. This one is a IH 404, and I've seen IH 300U's and Ford Jubilee type tractors too. Originally they were used for platforms for flame culitivators in cotton. Notice the propane tank underneath and the water saddle tanks. Burners burned the weeds in the middles and water jets sprayed on the cotton plants to keep them from getting burned. Flame cultivating didn't really get popular so people put spray booms on these tractors for chemical weed control.

Guy, Yes that is exactly what I was thinking of. If you had a closer pics of the rear chain drive, and sprockets set up I will bet it is very similar to that M
At one time every other farm on the South Plains had a Hi-Trac! Hate not seeing them much any more!

Burgh Implement here in Pa has a 504 like that. Needs restored, but runs good. He was looking to get $2500 out of it.

Many tractors were custom built for whatever purpose that was needed. Strangest iv seen was the custom Bs that were built for mowing grass at tree farms high arch over left side and rotorary blades so you could straddle the tree row and mow rite next to the trunk arch was 7ft or so high. It was in IND a few yrs ago at Red Power Show.

I thought it was decided the last time this one came up, it was a Super M. I know the rear hubs are later, and its got some sort of propane jury rigged conversion.

Yes it has a stage 2 SM center housing, hydraulic reservoir and so fourth. Hydraulic pump and lines gone.
