farmall red paint

Paint would be IHC 2150 red. I like to use red oxide primer.Dealer could have correct hardner for enamel paint IHC 2150.

I agree with red oxide primer, I blasted my H and ground off and wire-brushed off rust / grease / old paint / etc. I tried Van Sickle red IH spray cans, went on perfect, but it developed a white film just sitting inside the barn. Very objectionable.
Went to Case - IH dealer, got a 6-pack of spray cans of Iron=Gard B-17566-N gloss red [so all the colors matched, from the same batch] and am very happy with it. Perfect color, no white film.

Rust Oleum has the old Red paint for your SC the 2150 would be for the newer models its a shad darker than 2150 they all look good and standup well.

I used the PPG paint code 71310 for my tiller in 2006 and I used their hardener. Still looks good and is always sheltered. Hal

Listen to me.........get the Case/IH Ironguard 2150 Red from THE DEALERSHIP. You can buy it buy the quart or the gallon. Call around to different ones (out of state ok) to get prices because they all price it differently and you'll get it significantly cheaper if you call around. SHipping usually isn't over $15. You can get it in the rattle can but I don't like that stuff unless it is a small part. They should sell hardener for it as well. It is good paint. DOn't buy any other brand paint unless you have some PPG or Dupont mixed up at the auto paint store.....which will be about $100 more than the dealer.

I used some Rust Oleum "Regal Red" on a Super C this fall
and it is very close to IH Red ... Close enough, let's say. It
seems to be in all of the hardware stores in my area.

If the tractor is going to be a worker, and you dont care if it is the "correct" color of red, then IH 2150 from the dealership.

If you want the correct color, I think it is IH 50, which you have to have made up at an auto paint supplier. I used DuPont's Nason line for a tractor that doesn't see real work. The Dupont code is 7140 for the IH 50 color, I believe. It turned out really nice, but is more money than the 2150 from the dealer.

Isnt there another IH color in there, like IH 1102B that was after IH 50? I dont believe anyone has that color of red, or has the cross/code for it.
