Hi folks, just bought another B250. I allready have one witch is the 49th one made and this is the 98th one. The first 440 tractors have the CAV inj pump with the mechanichal govenor units then the went on to pnumatic units. The tractor is in good origanal condition and so it will not get painted and be left as it is. MJ
 
I've got several B275s with the CAV rotary-centrifugal governor and CAV in-line with air-governor. The rotaries have been better starting tractors in cold weather. All mine have the new parallel-hookup 12 volt Bosch glow-plugs.

Was the B250 still being used? They were one tough tractor. Neighbour farmer had one from late 1950s until he traded it for a 444 in the late 1970s. He only knew two throttle positions, idle or full throttle. I drove it a fair amount during fall harvest but did not drive it like its owner.
Re CAV pump with mechanical governor, I have never seen one. All the ones delivered to Canada had the pneumatic unit.

If you have time a photo of the mechanical governor, it would be appreciated.

Hi folks,this tractor was owned by a lady with a few horses and it had a B901 loader no it but tis tractor as done very little work from new, still got the origanal glow plugs. The big IH dealer here in Lincolnshire sold 3 early B250s with the mechanical govened pumps and I have known were 2 of them was for a long while. The lady contacted me through one of my customers for a part for her B414 tractor and when I called in the B250 stood under the shed as she had only just stopped using it I just had to buy it.MJ Merry christmas Jim, I met jimb2 at a tractor rally here in the UK a few years ago.
 
Hi JD, still on the origanal glow plug system. I find the biggest fault with them is the connecting wires between the plugs must be clean also the earth on the water pump casting. MJ Merry christmas.
