Help looking at Farmall 400

I'm going to look at a Farmall 400 tomorrow. A 400 around here is rare. You hardly see anything newer than an M or H for sale so I have high hopes for this tractor. The problem is I don't think it has a T/A and no live PTO. I've never seen these tractors without. How can I tell if it's a factory T/A delete and how can I make sure it has a live PTO? This tractor does run. Can't wait to look at it, I need your help thanks!

S suffex in the largish serial # is TA equipped. A live PTO will be a basket ball sized unit attached to the final drive housing. A trans driven PTO will be the same as an M. Jim

After the serial number on the metal ID plate look for letters.
S = it came set up with a T/A and IPTO drive. P = it came without T/A and with a IPTO drive. R = it came with a T/A and set up for transmission drive PTO.
If it has IPTO the PTO housing will have a vent, oil check and drain plugs and a long operating handle on the right. If the PTO just has a small rod to operate on and off its not IPTO.
On the T/A lots of parts can be stripped off, a T/A eliminate kit could be installed later or other things. If no external t/a operation parts are to be found look at the serial # suffix letters. If letters indicate a t/a, take the tin top cover off the center housing, 4 bolts. Then see if a t/a clutch is still there.
Remembered to say if it has no suffix letters like above or if it just has a letter or letters that are for other attachments. It would be built with no t/a and no IPTO.
