Found this in a old shed and was wondering what it is for and what it is off of. It has some part number on it and are 271C and 272C. It also measures about 9inches in diameter.

Wow. First thought is some sort of IHC advertising hanging emblem, but it may have been some sort of foundry casting part, to make a cope or a drag, if I remember my casting terms.
Really cool.

Very nice. Hang onto that baby! It's worth some money.

I saw a poorly painted one sell for $96 on ebay.

Also a rusty one... which I think sold for more than double that amount (but cannot find the photo to verify the price).

yes thats what it is, i have the very same one on a separator.that is where the cream bucket sat on. there was one spout for milk and one for cream.

I looked at it last night and although i had seen one i couldnt remember where at or what it was on. This morning the cream separator post brought back memories.

introduced in 1913 and was called the Primrose Cream Separator. The pail shelves were cast in the form of the IHC logo. The Primrose Cream Separator was sold at least through the end of the 1920's. All of these early McCormick Deering cream separators were made at the company's factory in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. !
PAIL SHELF Measures 12 1/4 inches long and 8 3/4 inches wide at widest point
