Well its easy to tell if you have the 310 or the 312. The 312 has two oil filters and they are up and down the 310 has only one and it lays flat . My serial number is 13632 and its a 1980 and a 310 engine.

So yours is the hard starting German made one? Is there a website I can put my serial # in to find what year it is?

It doesnt look like you are giving us the right serial number. Check it agian to see if your right. The serial number is under the fuel tank its a silver plate riveted on the cast.

I have the complete number now 2450174U007927y . Sorry about that. What year is it ?

Roger,

The last 6 digits of that number is the actual "serial number." You can look it up right on this site. Right-click the Yesterday's Tractor logo in the top left, and select "Open in New Tab" or "Open in New Window. That takes you to the home page. Now look down the left side of the page and you'll find a section labeled "Research." In that section is a link to Serial Numbers. From there you select brand, then model. It will give you a list of the FIRST serial number for each year. When your number is between two of these numbers, it was built in the year next to the lower number.

We have a 686 with the 310 engine and so far it
