200pinion gear on pto

got jaw puller, removed broke pinion gear.pressed on new to me gear,put bolt back in...tryed spinning buy hand,feels like has tight spot... didnot feel like that with broke pinion...do you think i pressed on to far,,you can hear it hit housing sounds like...like its crooked..key way was true but grove wher key way sits was wollered ,,alittlebigger than keyway but groove in gear is tight.any suggestions....thanks dewy

Just a little fussy engineer/machinist thing: The groove is the KEYWAY. The part that fits in the groove is the KEY.

It's real easy to test the pressed on too far theory. Take your gear puller and give that gear a quick tug to move it out a little.

thanks .mkirsh....tryed today finally figured out the back of the pto
shaft is bent..and thanks for lingo....dewy
