12v conversion

after converting my sc to 12v and put on a new battery, when i pulled the starter rod the cable for my temp guage started to fry. the starter is inguageing the flywheel but barely turns the motor. The staff at ABC tested the bat. when in purched it and said its hot. but it acts like its down on the tractor

the warning light that i installed comes on when i pull the ingn. switch on like the should.

any ideas would help

Get the ground cable on a starter bolt.

starter bolt, is the the bolt with the 3/4 hex head that holds the starter to the housing?

A poor ground will cause that type of problem.

You still have to fix whatever was wrong with it before you converted it.

thank yall of yall very much, Charlie starts right up and the warning light goes off too. so that means the alt. is charging and i wired it up correctly,
