Throttle pedal on Super A

Hey guys, I recently squired an 1939 super a and I have one question. This tractor has an extra pedal near the brakes which to my surprise turned out to be a throttle pedal. Was this an aftermarket add on or was it factory? I have never seen anything like it before!

Thank you for any input!

(quoted from post at 05:43:24 12/17/14) Was probably a mower tractor. Maybe industrial. Does it have a diamond shape front axle or round?

It's not going to be a 1939 if it is a Super A. It is either a 1939 'A' or a 1949 Super A..........or I guess anything else could be possible. Just trying to narrow down to the possible common mistakes on what you have been told.

With that said...the 'A' and the 'Super A' both came with a foot throttle if they were "industrial" models. Those models had the diamond shaped axle rather than round and also had a brace coming from the axle pivot pin to the back of the block.

A Super A has--
Hydraulic Touch Control
Square Instrument Panel which also serves as the rear cover for the battery box
Heavy Duty Fenders with 3 holes in the upper rear of each for mounting the rear rockshaft

I am sorry, I did make a mistake, it is a 1949. It
does have a diamond shaped front axle which also
threw me off seeing that I have never seen one
like that before.

Sorry for the mix up,

-Cole

You should have a International Super A Industrial tractor. I
have a '49 also. Foot throttle, bell housing brace and square
front axle..
