Ok here we go. The TA is stuck on my 300. The cover plate under the battery is the magic passage? I see there is a bunch of clutch stuff there so if you pull the handle back and use a small pinch bar to gently pry... will the clutch release? Rust from sitting too long not being run.

Maybe , I have drove a tractor around with the clutch still and had them turn loose from the vibration, most of the time I have to split mine.

The disk is probably rusted to the housing. I think it has a good chance of success noodling on it. You may be able to loosen the TA Pressure plate a little (Cant recall the amount of access, but I would not take out bolts completely) Jim

Here is a trick i have used , The cover plate bolts are little SHORT 1/4 inch bolts and do not give you any wiggle room so ONE at a time remove one bolt and get ones that are about a 1/4 x1 bolt and put that in where you removed the one also to aid in this deal there are three shipping bolt hole in the cover and if and again i said IF my old memory has not gone completely i think they ae a 5/16th by one with a flat washer this will pull the pressure plate back against the cover plate and remove the spring pressure . IF the sprag is good you will be able to only turn the T/A flywheel one way so just work around it and once you have removed all the short bolts and replace to the longer ones just to holt it in place then you can take a pry bar and pop the disc loose from the flywheel. Once it loose then just replace the short bolt back in and remove the shipping bolt readjust the linkage and work it . NOW due to age ware and tare most times the BOOK INSTRUCTIONS for adjusting the linkage will not get the job done and here it comes down to a FEEL adjustment and you will have to learn that one for your self.
