After reading the talk avout farmall M's being unsafe without fenders and a new seat spring, i've decided to order a new spring for the seat and find some fenders. If these arn't off of a M can i make them fit. They are for sale close to home. Thanks Kent

They are not. Pretty close, but off of a utility tractor. The rear light mount is clearly definitive.(might not be original, but it matters not). The weldments on the mount might cause issues, but might be just fine. Jim

I'm guessing they are off an IH 504.

never drove an M or H with fenders. I've been on one of two that sure made you bounce up and down!

Some of the utility tractors had the taillight bracket mounted on the fender. Probably some row crops, too. They're not 460/560 row crop fenders, but the 460U had a light bracket like that.

These aren't M fenders, but they'll probably work just fine. If those bottom brackets aren't welded on and they aren't otherwise cobbled up or rotten, I'd bet you'd have little trouble trading those for a set of H-450 fenders. Good clamshells are hard to find and aren't being reproduced by anyone that I know of.

Drove my H for many many years with no fenders, but once I had them on, I'll never go back. Sometihng to hold onto, you really appreciate it.

Those are the later style fenders that started with the 40/60 series of tractors and were also on the early 04/06 tractors.

Both Utilities and Farmalls had the same fender, all the way from the 240 through the 806. The only differences are the base mount, and the 04/06 fenders have handles on them.

They are a bit bigger and provide better coverage than the M style fenders. My Super H came with them, and I drove 12 hours round trip to get a matching set for my Super M. Suffice it to say I like that style.

change your statement from this:
"If these aren't off of a M [b:38732fce8e]can i[/b:38732fce8e] make them fit"
to this:
"If these aren't off of a M [b:38732fce8e]i can[/b:38732fce8e] make them fit"

They look pretty good...good price? do it
I've bought many tractors with off brand fenders.
A Farmall SC with Ford fenders mounted on big hardwood blocks one time..interesting.

I have a JD 40 with 14.9-24's on it. Just messing around, I set
a pair of non-scripted Ford N fenders on the axles.
They look like they were made for it, and the holes even almost line up. Considering it.
My JD friends have told me they will come and take the 40 away from me if I do it...LOL

I am 63 years old. I grew up driving Hs and Ms. I never even knew there WERE fenders for them until I started attending tractor shows less than 20 years ago.

You want off-brand fenders? The Super M I bought came with JOHN DEERE fenders on it. Talk about adding insult to injury.

One of my neighbors put John Deere fenders on his M. I thought it looked pretty good. Much better than the original style clamshell fenders, and much more functional. Looked even better after he painted those fenders IH red.

Not original fenders for an M, but could be made to work. For what its worth, about 8 or 9 out of 10 H's and M's came from factory without fenders. They were an option that cost more money to get them, and most people didn't order them. Not sure they really add much safety. Maybe it would for one on steel. Steel wheels will grab on to stuff and bring it over the top if you run over the right thing like a hog panel or sheet of tin.

Apparently we got the 1 in 10 tractors here in Wisconsin. Just about every letter series I see has fenders.
