460 fats hitch hydraulics

Recently bought and installed a fast hitch on my 460. My question is how should the hydraulics be plumbed? from what ports, etc.

The tractor had two (2) lines coming back to the drawbar, but I would like to keep them for possibly a future wheel disk.

Any help, pictures or where I can find the information is appreciated.

Thanks

Depends on how many valves your tractor has. If three you need to use those lines running to the rear for the hitch and then run another set of hoses from one of the other valves to the rear. If you have two valve you can add a third.

I have (4) quick connects. (2) on each side out of the blocks or under gas tank.

I then have (2) lines that come from under dash and ran under seat base. Someone had cut the seat base.

Then just use a pair of those couplers that are already running to the rear for the hitch and you will still have a pair to operate another cylinder on an implement. I you need to operate two cylinders on an implement , then you will have to hook to a third valve.

How many levers on the side of the hood? One, two or three?

From the factory, a 460 would come with a special "Tel-a-depth" valve to control the fast hitch in the 3rd position. There would be a bunch of linkages running from the hitch, up along under the platform, to the side of the steering pedestal, and to the Tel-a-depth valve.

If you didn't get those parts any regular valve will work fine. Just hook the cylinder hoses to whichever pair of ports corresponds to the lever that you want to use for the fast hitch. If the ports are under the gas tank, just use longer hoses to reach, and tuck them somewhere out of the way with zip ties.

IIRC, the left lever corresponds to the ports on the left, the right/middle lever corresponds to those on the right, and the third lever would either be the fast hitch or the ports on the rear.

I have three (3) hyd. levers on the column. So how should I pipe it knowing I have three (3)?

Pick whichever lever you want to control it, and connect the fast hitch cylinder to the corresponding ports.

Just for future thought, it is/was common to run extension hoses from the ports under the gas tank to the rear of the tractor, and mount a set of quick-release couplers there for more rear remotes.
