double seat spring

My Super H has two springs, which I'm guessing
was to reduce the chance of the spring breaking.
Was this an additional factory option,
aftermarket, or some old farmer's tinkering?
I've never seen this before and I was curious if
anybody knew.

I may have to try that on my M, either the spring has gotten weak over the past 50+ years or the 50+ pounds I've gained over the years causes me to sit pretty low in the saddle!

have done it on a couple of tractors, when the springs get old and weaker two is as good as one new one and when there just happens to be an extra hanging in the shed its also cheeper.

I gotta remember that!! I am a whole lot of heavier than I used to be and bottom out all the time............Kenny

I also seen a person deflate a football and put it in the spring and reinflate it to add extra to the spring . Looked really cool lol...Kenny
