Hello guys I am looking for a narrow front end to work with the 8 bolt front hubs that will work on a 1066 1466 or 1086. Did they make such a front end? Thank you much!

Yes they did make them, but not very many. I had a 14 for a little while.

The narrow front end attachment requires a wet bolster that has the same internal parts as the 06/56 series tractors but, the casting is wider for the 66 series.

The 6 and 8 bolt hubs fit the same spindle so you can use whatever fits size wise.

Thanks Jim! Also would this be the same bolster as what was on the 1086's? When you say a wider bolt pattern a 560 NF pedestal will not work I need one from a 1206 or larger tractor? Do you know where one might find one? Thank you!

Most of the ones I've seen done using an 06 series one, it's a little narrower so spacers or washers are required.

The bolster housing casting is wider due to the wider frame width that started with the 66 series tractors. The pedestal is the same p/n 370253R1 on all models 706 up to 1486 and also 560. The spindle is the same dimensions whether using a 6 bolt or 8 bolt hub.

Source... wherever you can find one. Any used parts source should be able to supply the necessary pedestal. The wide bolster is a little harder to find.

Yes. From the bell housing forward the tractors are the same as far as things bolting together.

If you are just desperate to make a narrow-front 66 series, I imagine you could use a wet bolster from an 06-56 series tractor with 1" spacers on each side to make up the difference in widths from the 06/56 series to the 66/86 series. If you can't find an old large frame 06-56 tractor in a salvage yard somewhere, you just aren't looking.

I'd probably put bolts in the 4 cultivator mount holes on each side too, though, for strength. So, 16 bolts holding the bolster to the frame rails instead of just 8.
