To any H owners, what brand of 12V battery do you use in your battery box. I can't seem to find one small enought to fit in mine. And I don't want to modify my box unless I have too.

What brand? I just use a small 12v car battey.Last
one I got was NAPA.Walmart sells em,as does anywhere
that sells automotive batterys. Measure case,or
better, take the case with you to the store. Then you
will know for sure.

If you have a Rural King close they have excellent prices on batteries. Look at the Grp 1 6 volt which would have been original on the shelf and then pick the one that is most similar in size in 12 volt is what I did.

I would recommend passing on any of the dual terminal batteries that are combo top post and side post. They do not last as long are at least none I have ever used from Walmart did. Plus the unused sideposts could arc on the metal battery box enclosure.

Someone on here stated that a good lawn tractor
battery will work. I don't know if it would spin a
super H over or not. They are certainly small
enough. AGM batteries put out a lot of amps for
their size too.

Both of my H's have interstate I-26 500 CCA 12 v batteries in them. Can't remember if I put a piece of wood under the btry to raise it a little bit so cables wouldn't hang on the box or not.
Did put a piece of foam rubber on top of + post so it wouldn't short out on the lid.

I use a Group # 65 Die Hard GOLD in my battery box seat base on my '54 Super H. It's the same battery that would go in my '96 Ford diesel pickup. My Super H plows snow in winter... has to start!

Well yeah, the under-seat battery box on the Stage II is way huge-er than the side mounted box on the more common Stage I.

All you got room for in that side mounted box is a Group 1 6V or a Group 26 12V.
