Update to trip plow that wont drop

Took the hub off today and this is what I found. It appears part of it is broke of missing. I don't have a good one to look at but I am assuming that there has to be something to engage the scalloped area in the hub to spin it over. What do you think the odds are in finding either the part I need or an entire hub. When I bought it years ago I was thinking yard art but now I sorta have a hankering to see it turn the soil again. When I was younger I liked to see stuff all shinny and on display. As I become more obsolete I would rather see other obsolete stuff still working. Wife and kids think I;m nut.

To my memory, the S shaped link does have a pawl on the bottom side to catch in the hub basket. There is also a spring that tensions the pawl toward engagement. When the trip lever is pulled and the pawl release lever (behind the cam stop, toward the center of the plow) is allowed to let the pawl engage the basket ridges, the plow lifts. When the trip follower enters the lift stop(up position)the pawl release lever holds the pawl out of contact with the basket and the wheel just spins. the same thing happens with plow down, except the lifting link that lifts the plow is down. Hey that is great Plowman. I didn't see your reply till it was getting late. I will give you a call Tomorrow afternoon after church if that is OK with you.
Thanks,
Paul

Steve Rea in Ohio has the old dies from Crescent Forge to make the IHC blacksmith share. I think Whitehorse in Pa. has the Spear point, Plowchief & Superchief dies.
