My neighbor says his 574, gets air in the brakes just sitting around after a few days.Any suggestions? Thanks in advance;

One of two things are happening; either the air is not being bled correctly or there is a leak in the system somewhere. Now you can break down the reasons from there. First look for leaks, and since it seems this happens after working then setting I would looking at the master cylinder then look at the wheel cylinders/slave cylinders.

Good Luck

P.S. Is the filler cap on the master Cylinder OEM? if it is check that it is venting otherwise it [u:8e1c0f91ed]could [/u:8e1c0f91ed]be creating a vacuum and pulling air into the system...moreover, it is a bad master cylinder causing your problem in one manner or another.

Check for rusted out lines between the master cylinders and the rear frame housing. If you don't find any leaks there it is most likely O-rings leaking on the brake pistons. Hydraulic fluid is fed to the master cylinders by a hydraulic return line to keep them full. Later tractors added a reservoir to keep a supply of oil available when the engine is not running. Try the brakes one side at a time to see if you can determine which side is causing the problem. If it is worn O-rings it most likely will be both sides leaking a bit.
