I’m working on my international 424 that the motor had seized up on. I’m working on the head now was going to reseat the valves. I was using a brass brush on a drill to clean the rust off the seats. The intake seats cleaned up fine but the exhaust seats seam to be make out of a softer material they didn’t do so well. Can anybody help me on this?

well the correct way is to use a 45 degree stone along with the 30 and 15 to get the seat the correct width. if you have pits in the seats its pretty much machine shop work. either grind or replace. head work is a specialty thing, your average mechanic's just don't do it.
it don't take much to install sleeves and pistons but valve work is machine shop work.

Ok thanks and the head did make a trip to the machine shop.

Now i have another question. Where is a good place to get parts?

Thanks
