560 diesel hydraulic noise

I have a loader on the tractor and yesterday had a lower toned howling noise coming from the valve control area below the dash. The loader controls and the two point hitch control work fine. The howl gets louder with higher rmps. My pressure relief valve normally has a hissing noise when the engine is running and stops making the hissing noise when using a hydraulic valve. The howling started as an intermittent sound about a month ago and would go away at low rmps, but is constant now. I haven't changed any settings on the tractor and have two way hydraulic power for the loader like usual. Any ideas on what to check or how to fix? My power steering works and I added hytran this summer.

Are you talking about the hydraulic pump filter, or is there another I should be aware of? I have not changed the hydraulic pump filter in a while. I listened by the cover to the hydraulic pumps and filter and the noise wasn't coming from the pump area so didn't suspect that filter as the cause. I am not very knowledgeable on trouble shooting problems though, but agree the filter should be changed anyway and will order a new one this weekend. Thanks!

Starvation from a restricted filter can cause the vibration. The sound can be transmitted to sheet metal in other locations by the tubing, to be loud there. Jim

On my 460 and 560 if the fast hitch lever is moved to far down in the quadrant it squeals like by passing in the valve.

Thanks for that information. Just tried to order a filter and the web site went screwy. Now have to try to find out if the order went or not.

Needs to be adjusted at quadrant stop and or linkage. With the wear in the links it is sometimes necessary to use a longer stop screw in quadrant.
