660 oil pressure

Just got my 660 started for the first time sinice the rebuild and it hook a bit to get oil pressure. At a little above idle it is at 40psi. Haven't went much more than that yet so don't know if it will get higher or not with more throttle. Where is common for 560 or 660 gassers?

This morning half throttle was just a bit above 45.

Another question - On the bottom of my exhaust there is an 1/8 hole. Looks to be a perfect circle, not somethin that rusted thru. Is that supposed to be there?? If so what is the purpose?

I guess it could be for warming up the carb to help from freezing?? Not sure how much these LPs freeze up but would make sense.

To me the hole in manifold was a drain and also a pain. Some seem to feel it was to warm the manifold. In all my years working at IH dealer I never heard of the hole being referred to for that purpose. On a LP engine I certainly would not want to be blowing hot exhaust onto anything. Personally, I plug them.

that hole is just a drain hole for moisture. but the exhaust is to be covered with rain cap or can. many different tractors have that hole, about 1/8".
