Ih 454 power steering

I have an IH454, and recently had the hydraulic cover off to fix a broken shaft where the shift linkage for the range goes into the lower unit on the tractor. Got it all back together and my loader and three point work, however my power steering does not. I have ran it a fair amount hoping to work air out of the system..nothing. I also have taken both lines off the front power steering cylinder, and fluid comes out steady. Does anybody have any thoughts? I am at a loss, and really would hate to have to pay somebody to come and figure this out! Any help is appreciated!
Thanks
Nick

Hi Nick,
Could be the priority valve is stuck in the MCV valve. If the 454 has remote hydraulic valve, dead head the remote hydraulics while turning the steering wheel, may free the stuck priority valve.

Hey Jim, Thanks for the reply...I'm gonna need you to help me through this a little bit... How do I "dead head" the remote hydraulics? sorry, still a little new to all of this!

With tractor running at fast idle and no hydraulic cylinder connected to the remote outlets, pull the remote lever until you hear a buzzing noise of the relief valve releasing then release the remote lever.
Sometimes this will cause enough of a shock to the hydraulic system to free the stuck priority valve.

Now I don't want to sound dumb here, but I have never ran anything off my rear remotes. I have the two levers down by my right foot for the tilt/lift on the loader...but what lever would control the rear remote hydraulics?
Thanks

Those levers also control the rear remote hydraulics.

So you need to raise the loader all the way up, then do what Jim suggested, by trying to raise the loader further.

You may need to remove this valve & clean it, I had to years ago when the fluid didn't get changed often enough. It's a large hex head, looks like a inch & a half or so, on the bottom of the MCV.

I lifted the loader all the way up and kept holding the lever and worked the steering wheel...didnt work. I also took the plugs out of the mcv valve and checked 3 of them for debris in the valves...found one broken o ring in the smaller plug (11/16ths head) fixed that...still no power steering. when i lift the bucket all the way up and turn the wheel it gets really hard, but if I bounce the lever up for the bucket, I can feel it through the steering wheel...not sure what is going on here.. any thoughts??
