Schwartz wide front end for an M

I got a free Schwartz front end from a guy
who actually had it on a Allis Chalmers
WD45. I don't know anything about it, but
the guy I got it from claims it is a
universal wide front...so, could I put
this on an M tractor that has a factory
narrow front?

I think you could. The rear saddle and the front pivot might need some engineering. The free part sounds good. I have no idea of what hubs to use. It would be nice if 560 hubs will work for you.

The axle tube, axle extensions, spindles, and hubs will probably work on your M. Everything else, including the tie rods, will need to be specific to the M. The cost of those parts will be close to the price of a brand new, ready to go, wide front.

My M came with one. I think whats different is how it fastens to the tractor and you could probably have someone make a plate or what ever else you'd need.

I got a M with a Schwartz wide front ,it use's a 6 bolt wheel, the spindles look puny compared to a IHC 450 wide front, but on the other hand never broke one either!

Does it look like this.

Agreed. That's one of the original style with the tierods out front.

Nobody said they weren't strong. Hanging way out in front like that, they ride well too. They just leave a lot to be desired as far as maneuverability.

If you put it on your M make sure you drill the holes so you can access the bottom radiator bolts before you install it.
