Hi IH folks,
Still looking at the IH 464 with an IH 2050 loader.

All my searches have come up empty for the rated capacity of the IH 2050 loader.

Anyone have a source for this info.?

thanks,

More than the tractor can safely pick up without rear wheels raising. Any thing over 1000lbs very high would be dangerous.

My book doesn't list the 464 but on my 2444 with front 17 gpm pump and 2000 psi relief valve it lists 4000 lbs breakout force and 2000 lbs full lift capacity. Single acting cylinders instead of double acting have capacities slightly more than half.

All, Thanks all for your replies!
What I am trying to determine on the 464/2050 combination I am considering is:
Can I safely lift a 2000# super sack off my flat bed trailer. The tractor has rear wheel weights, and the rear tires are fluid filled.(see attached pic)
I need to be able lift the bottom of the sack 33" off the ground to clear the trailers side rails.

In order to try and see if the tractor under consideration can safely do what I need done and after a little investigation Owen your IH 2444 appears to be an industrial version of the IH 444 with an IH 2050 attached--is that correct?

Tried to find the weight of both the 444 and the 2444 but tractordata.com didn't list either.

With lack of data and if I make the assumption that the 464 w/ rear wheel weights and fluid filled rear tires will add enough weight so that the rear wheels won't lift when lifting the 2K sack, and from your post the loader appears to be rated for 2K# since the lift cylinders on the 464 are double acting I am assuming that the loader is capable of lifting 2K#'s.

Is my take away estimate that it can safely do what I need considering I am only lifting it ~33 inches incorrect?

Any and all comments welcome on my conclusion.

The lift capacity decreases as you raise the loader as the angle of the cylinders to the boom changes. The 2000 psi is the capacity at maximum height.

My 2444 has one set of rear wheel weight but I no longer have fluid in the tires. I do have a box scraper on the rear. I also add one of the old tire and wheel that is filled with fluid on the scraper if I am going to lift a lot of weight. It will still raise one rear wheel of the ground if the load is too much.

The front axle of the 2444 is swept back farther than the axle would be on a 444. It makes for a tighter turning radius but reduces the amount the loader can lift without the wheels coming off the ground. My tractor has about five feet from the center of the front wheel to the bucket pivot pins on the loader booms.

It will lift it if you can keep the rear wheels on the ground. I would take the bucket off to do this. Then lift at the ends of the loader arms. It will remove the weight of the bucket and move the weight closer to the tractor. Then drive the trailer out from under the tote bag. This saves trying to move with the weight on the front end. If it is on a pallet you could lift it more easily with the 3pt and a pallet fork for that. Also safer.

excellent recommendations.
as it turns out I have decided (because of the marginal nature of this tractor relative to what I need) NOT to buy it.

I have at present made serious offer on a JD 2030 loader tractor- much closer to the HP and heft I think I need.

Thanks
