i have a farmall 340 row crop and we seperated the back part of the transmission and rolled it back and when i bolted it back up its stuck in gear. i punched pin out of shifter lever and looke down it and all the gear selectors are lined up but when iput it in gear then it act likes its locked up but in nuetral it acts like its in 4 th or 5 th gear. help

Did it go together easily. It is problematic to get the main shaft pilot bearing to enter the TA output shaft and you may have damaged it. That could cause your problem. I always put tractor in 4th gear to hold shaft up , rubber band the pilot bearing and turn input shaft through TA while getting pilot bearing started into shaft. Plus, want no help pushing it together as that only causes problems. On tractors with belt pulley cover it is easy to see what is going on but with the blind hole on that one and like a 656 it is more difficult. Hopefully this isn't your problem but it is suspect. I would take cover off TA and check for freedom of movement of planet gears wit TA lever back and clutch held down.

We have a W-4 that often locks We just bump through all the gears using the shifter (with it off) till it comes loose might work for you

Don't have any idea, but it remonds me when I pulled the drive shaft / clutch / bearing / pres plate out of my H, and put it all back together, I mistakenly put the 4-bolt flex-plate in backwards [yep, it can be installed in there nicely backwards]. Result was the drive shaft did not go into the pilot bearing. It hung out, and whipped around, did all sorts of damage for a few weeks. Point being, did you install something backwards??? Might go together just fine, but it might be backwards????
