picked up a 1968 656 Gas that has been sitting outside for the last couple-3 years anyway the gas linkage where it rotates under the fuel tank on the tank support bracket is rusted tight it's the one about 3" long where both connecting rods fasten one on each end I have placed a small lid w auto trans fluid for it to soak but to no avail ,looking on any suggestions to free it sorry for such a long post Thanks

Taking it out to free the rusted parts might be necessary. Taking the arms off the end and making a driver that fits over the end to enable you to tap upwards on the shaft might work. (room may be limited. turning force applied to both ends at the same time will also help. Jim

If you have soaked them already and they have not come loose I am assuming they are done.

Check out Mcmaster Carr supply company they sell those ball joint linkages. I checked my 656 they are 5/16" You will have to make a new rod if they are rusted with threaded rod.

Hopefully the link will take you right there. Otherwise search this part number 6058K42
