I have a Farmall Super M with a Schwartz wide front
end. I went to remove the radiator and can not get
at the 2 lower bolts. Will I have to remove the
front end or is it possible to drill or grind out
the hole to be able to get a socket in there. On my
other M with the tricycle front end I had no
trouble.
Thank YOu.

I don't think you should be grinding on it. Darn cast iron is so unpredictable. I would think you may have to remove the WF to get at the nuts. I have worked on a lot of NF's , but few WF's. One of these other guys will chime in here shortly.

If you can determine where to drill the holes in the wide front mounting plate, that would work. Takes a darn good hole saw though. I think I would just pull the wide front and then maybe torch a couple holes for next time.

Had a WFE on an M I had. Someone had already torched out the holes in the wide mounting plate before me, so I had easy access. Is there truly no way to finagle a wrench up in there from the back? Just a simple tricycle front end H is a nightmare to remove those two vertical radiator bolts with those spring loads. Took me 2 hours of cussing to work them out because my hand and arm hand to contort like a magician.

My neighbor has a air powered pencil grinder He came over and ground 2 slotted holes and we were able to get a 5/8 socket up there and get them off now I have to get the radiator fixed. At least next time I will be able to get at the bolts. Thanks to all who replied.
