farmall H positive ground placement

I have a farmall h was wanting to know is it better to have the positive ground close to the battery as possible like on a starter bolt. I have mine grounded to a bolt below the battery box.Thanks for any help.Scott

Since you mention positive ground I believe your tractor is still the original 6 volt system. I always ground my 6 volt positive ground to one of the starter mounting bolts whenever possible. I also use 00 cable with soldered terminals which is the best it can be for starting on s 6 volt system. HTH, Hal.

My good old H would barely turnonver. I grounded the ground cable directly to the mount bolt, not thru any washers either, directly TO the starter flange. Made all the difference in the world, has really spun over for years now.
