Farmall C hydraulic pump

Just got my Farmall C running after an overhaul, and its still in the shakedown stage. Had to keep adding oil to the hydraulics. Today, I cracked the top petcock, sure enough she's making oil. Took out about 3 quarts. When I had the engine apart, I bought a seal for the hydraulic pump, when I went to put it in, it wasn't the right one. The part number checked out to the right CIH number, so I think my pump must be another brand. Does anyone know what other brand(s) of pump could be on a Farmall C, so I have somewhere to start. When I had it apart, I saw no marks or brand identification, but it looks different than other IH pumps.

The pump on my "SA" looks like that and I used Timken seal # 470954. How does that compare to your seal # ?
 
My seal is 5/8" ID and your Timken number is 3/4" ID. So maybe I better just take the pump back off and measure up what I need, and go from there. Thanks Dalex
 
Did your seal have an 0-ring or a seal and is the journal worn ahere the seal rides mite need to use a speedy sleeve where the seal goes on the shaft.

I went through the same thing you are about a week ago.
Learned there are at least three maybe four different brands of pumps with different seal configurations.
Mine was a Thompson with an O ring, had a badly worn shaft and the gear was also very loose on the shaft. So, I had an extra and found it to have a lip seal and then learned there are two different sized ID depending on brand and vintage.
Here is what I determined on lip seals,
5/8'' shaft IH p/n 353183R91, SKF6229
3/4'' shaft SKF 7443
SKF and CR are same thing, Napa had it.
SKF has a good internet site for crossing over OEM #S

I have 3 different Super C's all with different pumps. Look for stamp #'s that will tell you what you have. My IH dealer has been able to get me kits for each pump.
