The width of cut of each bottom. For a SC, you will want a 2x14" plow so it will turn over 28" at a time. Measure between the beams to tell how wide it is.

The most common plow for the fast hitch Super C tractors is the C-20 moldboard plow. They are fairly common and shouldn't be that difficult to find depending on where you are located. If I knew how to post pictures I would but that is another story and maybe someone will post one for you. A very distinctive identification item on the C-20 besides being a two furrow one way fast hitch plow is the large coil spring above the beams. HTH, Hal.

I had a Super C with plow. On the last pass across the garden one of the hydraulic lines blew.
I replaced both. Hal

Ok I've got to ask whats the big horizontal spring for? does it allow the plow to tip up if a large rock is hit?

Thanks Hal, but my problems go much further back then that. First, I don't know how to take pictures with anything other then those one use cameras that you take and have developed into prints. I know I can get a CD along with the prints but I don't have a clue how to load them to my PC for starters. And if I could figure that step out how would they be found and located in my PC. By the way I still use my slide rule and not all that savory with the PC as they just seem to never be the same next time I go to use one.

Unrelated to the plows, but good to hear you're at least posting on a PC! I'm not sure how I got along finding info before now that I'm used to the internet

(quoted from post at 22:08:35 10/19/14) Wouldn't it be center to center of the beams?

That's what I meant.
As for the big spring, no the beams do not trip, it is just a big "cushion" to absorb a little shock if you hit a big rock. I was making the last pass along a fence and due to being so close to the barbed wire, I had our SC idled down to about 1/2 throttle. Hit a rock that stopped it dead, killed the engine and about threw me over the gas tank. Don't know if the spring helped any at all, but it may have kept me off the hot muffler.

gab, that picture sure takes me back to about 1956. Only difference I see is ours had a glass jar pre-cleaner.

Doesn't matter, as long as it is the same point at each end of the measurement.

The beams are the same width so left-side to left-side, or right-side to right-side, or 1/2" to the right of the center.... All will measure the same distance.

AFAIK, the C20 plow is also adjustable. Looking at the frame there are several sets of holes and it appears that if you bolt it together in the right configuration you can get 12", 14" or 16" width. Not sure if the bottoms are different, but as long as you only go narrower, the bottoms that are on it will work fine.

(quoted from post at 14:15:31 10/20/14) Picture's probably 10 years old, it's got the jar precleaner on it now
Oops! one more thing I noticed.... ours had the "flat back" headlights. I was one of the latest ones built an Dad bought it new in early '56. Dealer had both a new SC and a 200. SC was a little lower priced and since Dad was buying several new Fast Hitch implements and a couple other used implements, it got him more stuff in the deal.
