Lug Bolt for IHC 5421 Forklift

I mentioned to a friend that I would be willing to help locate some lug bolts for his 5421 IHC forklift. Little did I know that so many phone calls would turn up nothing. I have to think that there are some units sitting around that some bolts could be taken off of or even the same bolt used on other heavy International units from the same timeframe. Some of the particulars of the bolt are:
9/16-18 thread
1 1/4 hex head size
3 1/4 overall length
1 7/8 is the length of the threads
regular 45 deg taper on bolt head to seat in rim
There is a short smooth part of the bolt is 5/8" OD with a length of 3/8, this part of the bolt may be for the rim to rest on.

Any help in locating some bolts would be greatly appreciated. He is looking for 6 bolts total. These are the ones off the large drive wheels. Thanks

I assume you've tried IH and they are no olnger available?Take one as a sample to a NAPA(find the old guy who has been there a 'hundred years),or find a truck repair shop or a truck parts place.Sometimes the guy at the parts counter just needs to see the part...

Delta,
Been there done that. That is why I'm posting on line here to see if anyone might have seen anything just sitting around that some might be able to be bought off of. The days of "PAPER" catalogs at the parts houses are getting to be a thing of the past. Even a industrial forklift shop can't look anything up outside of an actual application. If you go in and give them the old part to get the dimensions off of they can't help you out. What the heck ever happened to customer service??? I always tried to bend over backwards to help customers out when I was in the car parts business. Many times we would have customers coming in looking for something to make this or that work again. Heck even going with a different oil filter than what the application showed to get more capacity or fit in a modified area was nothing uncommon. Anyways, I degress, If anyone might know of someone that might have something sitting around please let me know. I can make some of this on a lather but I shouldn't have to. Thanks

Oh, you mean the "customer service" where you and the parts guy fiddle-fart around for hours, trying to match up your unidentifiable doodad with every part in the stockroom, while a massive line of customers builds up behind you? You mean that "customer service?" Boy those were the good ol' days... NOT!

Have you tried a fastener shop like Fastenal? Or McMaster-Carr?

The IH parts catalog for the forklift is IND-6. It must be a later revision to show these forklifts. This book only shows the forklifts and attachments.

The base tractors IH used for these forklifts was the International 504. That parts book is TC-88. You should be able to find your lug bolts by finding the wheels you have in that parts book.

Dorman Products should have an excellent selection of wheel hardware.

The bolt part number for the 504 is 527067R2. Messick's show 16 in stock. They should be able to visually check to see if they would be long enough for your needs.

It does help to keep going back and keep going back, until you find the old guy and he knows you. THEN you get the knowledge. Old guy here at O'Reilly's is Delmar, old guy at CNH-IH is George.
