trans split IH 444

I need help with tran split it has come apart inch but something seems to be holding it I need to change the collar for high range splitting at tranny in front of shifter does the top shaft run solid to clutch what could be holding it from coming on apart

Do you have both halves of the tractor well supported? is it binding up as you try to pull it apart? I split my IH444 about a year ago and it came apart pretty easily, but I had both front and rear halves supported really well. I also made long pins to replace the bell housing bolts to keep everything aligned.
