I've just gotta tell someone. Took on replacing ignition components and resetting timing on the H by myself. Used Jim's suggestion about the two foot chunk of garden hose to verify the compression stroke. Lined up timing marks on pulley and moved distributor to get spark on secondary coil wire. The old girl fired up like never before. Thanks for all the new and old postings on the subject. I know it is no big deal normally, but I've been ignoring all the advice to accept the fact that I'm not able to do things I used to do before my stroke. When she roared to life it was like Christmas morning to a 7-year old.
