Hi
Hsd to remove oil pan, New gasket looks like cork/rubber. Would you also use soem kind of gasket maker/sealer.
Thanks

I would use a thin coating of silicone on both sides of the gasket.
First make sure the gasket flange is straight.
Do not over-tighten; when you see the gasket begin to squeeze out from under the flange---QUIT!

Slippery SNOTTY silicone is the WORST thing to use on both sides of a cork gasket... it slickens things up so much you can't hardly NOT slide the gasket out of place/tear it when you tighten the bolts.

I stick one side in place with a contact cement style of gasket goop, then put a thin layer of the snotty stuff on the other side, and gently snug up the bolts.

The GOOD part about having silicone on one side is the next time you need to take it apart that side will let go before prying deforms the oil pan!
