350 UTILITY

Quick question! What other motor will fit in a 350 utility. Was wondering if a H motor will fit if you change the front cover from the utility.

From what I can tell on the CaseIH parts website the engine block is a different part number between the 350RC and 350U. The utility uses the engine as the frame whereas the row-crop has frame rails so I could imagine that the utility's block is heavier built to take the stress. I've had my 350RC parked next to my friend's 350U but can't remember if the block looked different or not. I do remember that overall not much between the two tractors is the same, though.

Farmall blocks have all 3/8 diameter bolts retaining the front engine cover. Utility blocks have some 1/2 diameter bolt holes in the block and front cover to help with front bolster support. If you really want to use a H block you may be able to make the bolt holes larger and tap threads where the 1/2 inch bolts go.

D Slater thank you for the info. I will pass it on to my neighbor. Again Thank You.
