Got a new-to-me flat bed on 1/2-ton pickup, with no place to install license, but I oculd if I had to. I understand farm trucks not required to carry one MO. How about going to nearby states KS? OK? ARK? to get Farmall parts?

I live just a few miles north of the Iowa/Missouri border. I see a LOT of cars and trucks from south of the border. I've NEVER seen a Missouri farm truck WITHOUT a license plate.

Here in Missouri you do need a plate on a farm truck and if over 18K you only need the front one. If a true farm truck it will have a F on it also which says your not suppose to go more then 25 miles from the farm unless your doing farm stuff

I thought MO farm meant the tag had to be on the front only and not the back. They assume it will pull a trailer the majority of the time. I live in KS and have farm plates. There's no restriction that I know of or have been told. The only restriction is on a farm class A CDL. Used to be you had to stay within 150 miles of the farm. Now you just have to stay within the state.

Old is correct for MO. "1/2 ton Farm" will have two tags. You can mount the plate about anywhere on the rear, but it is a ticket waiting to happen if you do not have a light on the rear plate.

we don't have farm tag here in nm, but im with delta red, find a place and put a tag on, it also a lite for it, sounds like if its a 1/2 ton it has to have one, unless your going to keep it on your own property permanently, some ranchers here do that but those trucks never leave the ranch, and are usually specific use trucks like cattle feeders, ect, even if there is an obscure law stating you don't have to put one on the back, good luck finding a cop who knows about that law, some of them are still working on figuring out up from down these days
