jerky touch controls

The hydraulic controls on my 53 SA are "jerky". By that I mean moving the control does not cause the hydraulics to move until I make a large movement. Then the hydraulics make a big move. This is the only SA I have access to so I do not know if this is normal.

I can tell you that it's definitely not normal, but I can't tell you what's wrong. If I had to theorize, I would say possibly slop in the linkages.
